Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - The Watertown Area Community Foundation has officially launched its 2026 Women & Giving Campaign, inviting women across the region to join a growing network of local philanthropists dedicated to creating opportunities for women, children, and families. The annual campaign runs through August 7, 2026.
Now in its 23rd year, Women & Giving unites women to collectively invest in the future of the community through grants, scholarships, and a permanent endowment that will continue supporting local needs for generations to come.
In 2025, the program awarded $46,090 in grants to 14 local nonprofit organizations and $29,500 in scholarships to 11 nontraditional female students pursuing higher education at Lake Area Technical College and Mount Marty University. Since its founding in 2003, Women & Giving has invested more than $552,000 in grants to organizations serving women and children while building a permanent endowment to ensure lasting community impact.
“Women & Giving demonstrates the incredible difference that can happen when women come together with a shared purpose,” said Cammie Mengwasser, Executive Director of the Watertown Area Community Foundation. “Every gift helps create opportunities today while building a stronger future for the women, children, and families who call our community home.”
Community members are encouraged to support the campaign with a charitable gift of any size. Donations will fund both immediate grantmaking and the long‑term growth of the Women & Giving Endowment Fund at the Foundation.
