Watertown City Council Approves $472,000 Engineering Contract for Calvin Industrial Park Lift Station

Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - The Watertown City Council has approved a professional services agreement totaling $472,000 for engineering and construction administration services related to the Calvin Industrial Park Lift Station project.


The agreement, designated as project number 2428, was awarded to Infrastructure Design Group (IDG). City Engineer Justin Petersen presented the contract details to the Council. He noted that IDG will be handling the design and construction administration for the central portion of the project, while a sub-consultant, AE2S, will focus on the lift station component. The contract amount represents approximately 12% of the overall project cost.


Mayor Holien emphasized the importance of the project for the city's economic future, stating the matter had been thoroughly vetted in previous public meetings and work sessions.


A motion to approve the agreement was made by Councilman Schutte and seconded by Councilman Peters. The motion was carried by a voice vote, signaling unanimous approval from the Council members present.


The approval enables the city to proceed with developing the critical infrastructure necessary to support the growth of the Calvin Industrial Park.
