Watertown Earns National Award for Excellence in Financial Reporting

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - The City of Watertown has once again received national recognition for its financial transparency and reporting practices. The Government Finance Officers Association has awarded the city the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its most recent Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.

The report was evaluated by an independent review panel and met the program’s highest standards, including clear, complete communication of the city’s financial position. City officials say the award reflects Watertown’s ongoing commitment to accountability and responsible financial management.

This recognition is the highest honor in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and Watertown is no stranger to it — this marks the 43rd time the city has earned the award.
