Watertown Fire Rescue Responds to Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 212 Near 464th Avenue

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Watertown Fire Rescue responded Monday to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 212 at 464th Avenue, where heavy fog and low visibility were reported in the area at the time of the response.
According to a media release from Watertown Fire Rescue, crews were dispatched at approximately 12:00 p.m. for a reported two-vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Engine 4 and Medic 3 were sent to the scene. While en route, responders noted heavy fog and low visibility conditions.
Upon arrival, crews found a four-door sedan with moderate rear-end damage and a ¾-ton, four-door pickup pulling a flatbed gooseneck trailer that had significant damage throughout. The release also reports that a utility pole was struck, causing power lines to block 464th Avenue at U.S. Highway 212.
Watertown Fire Rescue said the drivers of both vehicles walked away with minor, non-life-threatening injuries. One patient was evaluated and released.
Agencies assisting on scene included the South Dakota Highway Patrol, Codington County Sheriff’s Office, Performance Towing, and NorthWestern Energy.
