Watertown Hosts Skateboard, Scooter, and Bike Contest, Highlighting Local Talent

Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - The Watertown Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department hosted a high-energy skateboard, scooter, and bike competition on Saturday, drawing several riders from across the area to showcase their skills at the city’s skate park.

Participants competed in two 90-second runs in their chosen event, with judges scoring performances based on difficulty, consistency, creativity, execution of tricks, smoothness, and overall use of the course.


In the Youth Scooter Division, Zeus Laurier took first place with a score of 122, followed closely by Seth Peters with 115 points. The Youth Skateboard Division saw Corey Musielewicz claim the top spot with a score of 117.


The Adult Skateboard Division showcased standout performances, with LJ Nessen earning first-place honors with a score of 155. Tom Laurier secured second place with 141 points.


Organizers thanked all participants and spectators for their support and extended special recognition to event judge Mitch Geffre for his contributions.


The event showcased the rising popularity of action sports in the community and the skate park’s importance as a center for youth recreation and community involvement.
