Watertown Man Arrested After Allegedly Threatening Two People With Large Kitchen Knife

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - A Watertown man is facing an aggravated assault charge after police say he threatened two people with a large kitchen knife Wednesday evening.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 7:26 p.m. on September 9 to southeast Watertown for a report of an individual threatening others. According to the Watertown Police Department, officers learned that 32‑year‑old Connor Maxwell allegedly threatened to kill two individuals while holding a knife described as roughly 12 inches long.

Police located Maxwell at the scene and seized the knife. No injuries were reported.

Maxwell was arrested for Aggravated Assault and transported to the Codington County Detention Center. His bond was set at $10,000 cash.

The release states,

“Officers learned that 32‑year‑old Connor Maxwell of Watertown allegedly threatened to kill two individuals while holding a large kitchen knife.” It also states, “No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.”

The Watertown Police Department reminds the public that all subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
