Watertown Man Arrested After Stolen Vehicle Investigation

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - A Watertown man was arrested Thursday morning following a stolen vehicle investigation in southeast Watertown, according to a media release from the Watertown Police Department.
Police were dispatched around 7:00 a.m. on July 23 for a report of a stolen vehicle. Officers later located the vehicle within the city and conducted an investigation that led to the arrest of Thomas Lowe, 39, of Watertown.
Lowe was taken into custody on the following charges, according to the release:
·       Theft of a motor vehicle (Over $1,000)
·       Theft from a motor vehicle ($400 to $1,000)
·       Possession of a controlled substance (suspected cocaine)
·       Possession of a controlled substance (suspected psilocybin mushrooms)
·       Possession of drug paraphernalia
Police noted that Lowe is currently on probation. He is being held at the Codington County Detention Center on two separate $2,000 cash bonds.
The Watertown Police Department reminds residents to help prevent vehicle thefts by removing keys, securing valuables, and locking vehicles whenever they are left unattended.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
