Watertown Man Arrested on Sexual Abuse Charges

On Thursday, October 23, 2025, Watertown Police Department detectives arrested Jason A. Currey, 53, of Watertown, following an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving a minor.
Currey was booked into the Codington County Detention Center on multiple charges, including:
Two counts of Sexual Contact with a Child Less Than 16 Years of Age – Offender Five or More Years Older
Sexual Exploitation of a Minor
Solicitation of a Minor
His cash bond has been set at $25,000.
The Watertown Police Department stated it remains committed to protecting children and thoroughly investigating all reports of abuse. Law enforcement encourages anyone who suspects abuse or neglect to contact authorities or the Department of Social Services.
