Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Educational sessions and Excellence in Manufacturing Awards highlight the Oct. 8 event celebrating the local industry.

The Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce is preparing to celebrate the local manufacturing industry with "Manufacturing in Motion," a half-day event scheduled for Oct. 8. Part of Manufacturing Week 2026, the program is designed to highlight the people, ideas, teamwork, and skills driving the community's manufacturing sector.

The afternoon will feature four educational and leadership sessions tailored for professionals working in human resources, safety, leadership, supervision, and directly on the production floor. The schedule is structured to provide practical tools for attendees to bring back to their respective workplaces.

The Oct. 8 session schedule includes:

· 12 p.m. – Civility in the Workplace, presented by Amanda Crockett of National SHRM.

· 1 p.m. – Manufacturing Safety, presented by SDSU Extension Engineering Safety & Health Services.

· 2 p.m. – Lean 101, presented by South Dakota Manufacturing & Technology Solutions.

· 3 p.m. – Emotional Intelligence, presented by Natalie Remund of Multi-Business Solutions.

In addition to the educational sessions, the Chamber will recognize standout professionals through the Excellence in Manufacturing Awards. The awards are intended to honor outstanding individuals across the local manufacturing industry.

Nominations for the Excellence in Manufacturing Awards are currently open and will be accepted through Oct. 2. Registration to attend the sessions and the portal to submit award nominations are available through the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce.
