Watertown Mosquito Spraying Scheduled Wednesday Night (8/19) in Southeast, Southwest Areas

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - The City of Watertown will conduct mosquito spraying on Wednesday night, August 19, after officials determined adult mosquito counts have reached the threshold for treatment.
According to the city’s Mosquito Control Program, spraying will begin after 9:00 p.m., weather permitting, in two areas of town:
· Southeast Watertown: South of 3rd Avenue North and east of Broadway
· Southwest Watertown: South of 3rd Avenue North and west of Broadway
The city notes that while the adulticide used is considered safe, residents should follow several common‑sense precautions during spraying:
· Remain indoors whenever possible while spraying is underway
· Keep children and pets inside during spraying and for about an hour afterward
· Rinse homegrown fruits and vegetables thoroughly before eating or cooking
The Mosquito Control Program will continue monitoring conditions and will announce additional spraying as needed.
