Northeast Radio SD News – Gretna, NE - An early deficit wasn’t enough to sink Watertown Post 17 on Friday morning. The Arrows mounted a spectacular comeback, erasing a seven-run gap to defeat the Dickinson Roughriders 11-8 at the Creighton Prep Tournament.

After a rocky first inning where starter Ashton Rabine yielded five runs on two hits over just two-thirds of an inning, Watertown found itself in a deep hole. However, a potent combination of resilient hitting and shutdown relief pitching turned the tide.

The Turning Point

The defining moment came in the top of the fourth inning. Trailing significantly, the Arrows capitalized on two costly Dickinson errors to completely erase the margin and tie the game at 7-7. The offensive surge was fueled by RBI singles from Jaxon Falak, Cain Everson, and Sam Olson.

Watertown seized the lead for good in the fifth inning when Carter Buisker stepped up to the plate, delivering a clutch single that drove in two runs. The Arrows then secured insurance runs in the seventh through a run-scoring single by Cole Hansen and a sacrifice fly from Everson.

Pitching Duel

While the offense provided the fireworks, the bullpen secured the victory. Lincoln Schutt earned the win in relief, delivering a dominant performance. Schutt pitched three scoreless innings, allowing only two hits while striking out four Roughrider batters. Buisker later took the mound to earn the save and seal the remarkable comeback.

For Dickinson, starter Kyler Kudrna opened with three solid innings, allowing just two hits. Christian Tibor was tagged with the loss after surrendering four runs on two hits across 3 1/3 innings of relief work.
