Watertown Post 17 Splits Doubleheader With Renner as Hunter Halajian Leads 3–1, Win

Northeast Radio SD News – Renner, SD - Watertown Post 17 rode a dominant pitching performance from Hunter Halajian to open Tuesday night’s doubleheader with a 3–1 win over Renner Post 307, before Renner answered with a decisive 14–1 run‑rule victory in the nightcap.

Game 1: Watertown 3, Renner 1

Halajian was in full command, firing a complete game with nine strikeouts, six hits allowed, and just one run surrendered. Watertown backed him with eight hits, including two each from Jaxon Falak and Sam Olson.

Cole Hansen, Carter Buisker, and Markus Pitkin each drove in a run to secure the opener.

Renner’s Dawson Horst went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Jack Canfield added two hits. Paxton Sohn took the loss, allowing three runs on six hits across 4 2/3 innings.

Game 2: Renner 14, Watertown 1 (5 innings)

Renner flipped the script in Game 2, capitalizing on 10 hits and four Watertown errors to end the game early.

Sawyer Konechne led Post 307 with four RBIs, while Sohn, Isaac Tobin, and Canfield all contributed multi-hit nights. Parker Scheidt earned the win, holding Watertown to one run on four hits.

Buisker paced Watertown with a 2-for-3 effort. Olson, Jonathan Lake, and Falak each added a hit. Tripp Jorgenson took the loss after allowing 11 runs (seven earned) in two innings. Ashton Rabine worked two innings in relief, allowing three runs without giving up a hit.
