Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Watertown Regional Airport is ‘flying high’ after reporting a 19% increase in passenger traffic for the month of May compared to the same period last year.
According to data released by the City of Watertown, the airport recorded a total of 1,434 enplanements throughout May. Travelers heavily utilized the airport’s strategic connections to major hubs at Denver International Airport (DEN) and Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP).

Meanwhile, Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) also posted impressive gains. MSP served 611 originating, connecting, and direct passengers this past month.
This represents a 27% increase in traffic when compared to the airport’s Chicago service in fiscal year 2025, validating the regional pivot toward the Twin Cities hub.
