Watertown Regional Airport Sees July Passenger Traffic Rise as Denver and Minneapolis Routes Grow

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Air travel through Watertown Regional Airport continued its steady upward trend in July, with the city reporting 1,652 total enplanements, a 3% increase over the same period in FY25.
The latest figures show modest growth on both commercial routes serving Watertown. The Minneapolis–St. Paul connection saw 596 passengers, a 1% increase compared to last year’s Chicago O’Hare service. The Denver route recorded 1,056 passengers, marking a healthy 4.5% gain year‑over‑year.
Airport officials expressed appreciation for the continued support from travelers, noting that each passenger contributes to the airport’s long‑term stability and service options.
“We are thankful to all of our guests and appreciate each and every one of you,” the release said.
July’s numbers continue a multi‑month pattern of incremental growth as the airport works to maintain reliable service and strengthen its regional travel footprint.
