Watertown’s New 605 Theater Company Announces Debut Production, Auditions for “A Christmas Carol”

The 605 Theater Company presents "A Christmas Carol," adapted by Jacqueline Goldfinger and directed by Amber Bosworth. Performances will be held at The Goss on December 11 and 12 at 7 PM, and matinees on December 12 and 13 at 2 PM.

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - A new community theater organization has officially taken the stage in Watertown. 605 Theater Company announced its formation this week, unveiling plans to bring local residents together through live performance, education, and storytelling.

A seven-member board leads the nonprofit group and aims to produce stage shows while offering workshops and mentorship opportunities for people interested in acting, directing, and technical theater.

“We want to create a theater community where people feel welcome to get involved, whether they’ve been performing for years or have never stepped on a stage,” said Amber Bosworth, President of the 605 Theater Company Board of Directors. “We also want to mentor people who are interested in learning directing, technical theater, and other areas that make a production possible.”

The company’s new website — 605theatercompany.com — serves as the hub for audition notices, workshops, and volunteer opportunities. Auditions for the debut production, A Christmas Carol, will be held September 25–27 at UCC Church behind Gather, 121 1st Ave. SE, Watertown. Performers of all experience levels are welcome, and organizers are also seeking volunteers for backstage and technical roles.

First Production: A Christmas Carol

The inaugural show, A Christmas Carol, adapted by Jacqueline Goldfinger and directed by Bosworth, will be presented December 11–13, 2026 at The Goss Opera House. Performances will include evening shows and matinees, marking the first collaboration between 605 Theater Company and The Goss.

Bosworth said the choice of the holiday classic reflects the group’s mission to unite the community through timeless stories.

“We’re excited to begin with a story that brings people together and to have the opportunity to present our first production at The Goss,” she said.
