Watertown School Board Approves $60,000 ArrowTV Sponsorship Extension With DFS Insurance, Dakotaland Federal Credit Union

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - The Watertown School Board voted unanimously Tuesday, October 13, 2026, to approve a three-year extension of its exclusive broadcast sponsorship agreement for ArrowTV with DFS Insurance and Dakotaland Federal Credit Union.
Under the agreement, DFS Insurance and Dakotaland Federal Credit Union will pay the Watertown School District $20,000 per school year. The three-year deal totals $60,000, beginning in the 2027-28 school year and running through the 2029-30 school year.
The board took up the request under agenda item 6.3.3. Board Member Jean Moulton moved to approve the extension as presented, and Board Member Kari Lohr seconded.
During the board discussion, board members asked whether similar corporate sponsorship models exist in other regional school districts.
"Not aware," Superintendent Dr. Danielsen stated. "Other districts stream their games, but I don't know about the sponsorship and the agreements that we have. I mean, our kids were here a couple months ago after they won the national award. So I mean, safe to say even if they have it, it's not as good as ours."
Board members praised the student media program's quality and the financial support generated through the partnership.
After the discussion, the board passed the motion unanimously.
