Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - The Watertown School Board was recognized at tonight's meeting for its commitment to professional development and leadership, receiving the “ALL Award” for the 2024-2025 school year from the Associated School Boards of South Dakota (ASBSD).

Superintendent Dr. Jeff Danielsen presented the ALL Award, which is part of the ASBSD School Board Recognition Program, designed to acknowledge school boards for their dedicated service to students across South Dakota. The award recognizes the board's participation in outside activities, board development training, and demonstrated leadership throughout the fiscal year.

Dr. Danielsen presented the award, reading a congratulatory message from ASBSD Executive Director Heath Larson. The message thanked the board members for their "time, effort, commitment, and leadership" during the past school year.

Following the reading, the board was presented with a plaque to symbolize its dedicated participation in activities and continued effort to "broaden your knowledge of school board work, which will undoubtedly benefit the student, staff, and the community of Watertown."

Dr. Danielsen noted that the award is based on a point system where board members accumulate points for attending various trainings, meetings, and participating in ASBSD activities. They credited the collective effort of the board members for accumulating enough points to earn the recognition this year.

The ASBSD, the parent organization for South Dakota school boards, utilizes the ALL recognition program to commend those who strive to enhance their knowledge base for effectively serving their districts.
