Watertown to Host South Dakota State Lions Convention This Weekend, Featuring Community and Service Initiatives.

Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - The South Dakota State Lions Convention is happening this weekend in Watertown on Friday, October 3, and Saturday, October 4, 2025. Hosted by the Watertown Lions Club, the event will draw Lions members from around the region, including the District Governor and an International Director, for two days filled with fellowship, service, and community celebration.


Jamie Mack, President of the Watertown Lions Club, highlighted the significance of hosting the event. “This convention offers a great chance to showcase the amazing work of Lions across the region and to demonstrate what makes Watertown unique,” Mack stated. “We are excited to highlight our club’s impact and the charm of our town, and we invite local businesses to display ‘Welcome Lions’ on outdoor signs or social media posts.”


Convention highlights scheduled for the weekend include:


·        An Oktoberfest celebration on Friday evening at Lions Park.

·        A bus tour designed to showcase Watertown’s landmarks and recent local growth.

·        An outing at the Redlin Art Center, which is “one of South Dakota’s cultural treasures.”

·        A banquet on Saturday night at the Watertown Event Center.
