Deuel Homecoming 2026: Court, Parade Route and Full Schedule Announced in Clear Lake, SD

Northeast Radio SD News – Clear Lake, SD - Deuel School District has released full details for Homecoming 2026, including the high school Homecoming Court, first grade attendants, parade lineup, and the schedule for this year’s “Deuel’s Got Game!” celebration.


Homecoming Court and Attendants

Deuel High School introduced the eight candidates for the 2026 Homecoming Court. This year’s court includes Gavin Kloos, Gavin Maaland, Aidan Sievers, and Sutton Benck, along with Braylin Kreger, Shyla Tvedt, Alayna Carlson, and Camdyn Peterreins.


The district also named the first grade attendants: Weston Shultz, Rhylee Bolden, Charli Atyeo, and Layton Monnier.


High school attendants for grades 9–11 are:

9th Grade: Hannah Turbak and Kooper Swenson

10th Grade: Stella Stormo and James Ulmer

11th Grade: Claire Spilde and Noah Love


Homecoming Week Schedule

Homecoming Week begins Sunday, September 13, with a Coronation Walk‑Through at 1 p.m., Seniors Paint the Street at 2, Fan Fest from 5 to 6:45, and Coronation at 7 p.m.

On Wednesday, September 16, Juniors and Seniors will compete in the annual Kickball Game at 7 p.m.

Deuel’s Got Game Dress-Up Days poster lists themed outfits by weekday, with dice, cards, and bold pink-and-black game graphics.

Friday, September 18, features a full slate of events:

1:00 p.m. — Homecoming Parade 

Pep Rally following the parade 

7:00 p.m. — Football Game vs. Flandreau Fliers • Fireworks after the game 

Homecoming Dance beginning 15 minutes after the fireworks


Parade Lineup and Route

The parade begins at 1 p.m. Friday with lineup starting at 12:30 p.m. near the Methodist Church for community entries.

The parade order includes:

Color Guard 

King and Queen and first graders 

Remaining royalty candidates 

School floats for Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, Freshmen, 8th–6th grades, MS Student Council, FFA, and HOSA

Community floats • Elementary students (PK–5) joining at the hospital

Football players riding the fire truck


The parade will pause at Sanford Clear Lake Hospital to allow the combined high school and middle school band to merge into the route. The band will perform only along Main Street.

The district notes that candy cannot be thrown during the parade. Candy will instead be distributed during halftime of the football game, and donations may be dropped off at the school business office.


Class Color Day

Students are encouraged to wear their assigned class colors, ranging from Black for Seniors to Blue for Preschool, with Tie‑Dye for staff.

Deuel School District says Homecoming Week is designed to bring students, families, and the community together in celebration of school pride, tradition, and creativity under this year’s game‑themed motif.
