Emergency Crews Respond to Two-Vehicle Collision on US HWY 212

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Local emergency responders were called to the scene of a traffic accident on the southwest side of the city late Tuesday morning.


At approximately 11:30 a.m. on April 28, 2026, Watertown Fire Rescue (WFR) was dispatched to the intersection of US Highway 212 and 41st St SW following reports of a two-vehicle collision. The accident involved two vehicles, one of which was towing an enclosed car trailer.


Upon arrival, WFR Paramedics assessed one individual involved in the crash. The patient was treated for minor, non-life-threatening injuries and released at the scene. No other injuries were reported.


First responders remained on the scene for approximately 30 minutes. During this time, crews provided traffic control to ensure the safety of passing motorists and cleaned up fluids and debris resulting from the impact.


Watertown Fire Rescue was assisted at the scene by the Codington County Sheriff’s Office and Performance Towing. The area was cleared for normal traffic flow shortly after midday.
