Fatal Motorcycle Crash South of Watertown Claims Harrisburg Man

Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - A Harrisburg, South Dakota, man died Friday, November 7, from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash that occurred late Thursday evening, approximately two miles south of Watertown.


The crash took place at the intersection of Meadow Lake Road and 29th Street SE at 9:44 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.


Preliminary information released by the South Dakota Highway Patrol indicates that the 24-year-old driver was operating a 2012 Harley Davidson Switchback 103 and traveling northbound on 29th Street SE. As the driver approached the intersection with Meadow Lake Road, he reportedly lost control of the motorcycle and was separated from the vehicle.


The driver, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was transported to Prairie Lakes Hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was later transferred to a Sioux Falls hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Friday, November 7.


The name of the deceased is currently being withheld by the South Dakota Highway Patrol pending notification of family members.


The South Dakota Highway Patrol, an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, is actively investigating the incident. Officials noted that all information released at this time is only preliminary.
