Joy Ranch Announces Major Expansion: Multi-Purpose Recreational Event Center Coming by 2026

Northeast Radio SD News - Florence, SD - Joy Ranch of SD has announced a major expansion project: the construction of a new Multi-Purpose Recreational Event Center designed to meet the growing demand for year-round, accessible programming.
The announcement was made on December 6th, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s growth. The new facility is slated for completion by summer 2026.
Joy Ranch highlighted that its mission-based programs and services have experienced sustained growth, welcoming over 11,000 people in 2024 for camps, retreats, and community events. This expansion directly addresses the need for a year-round, weatherproof space to serve guests of all ages and abilities.
The fully accessible Multi-Purpose Recreational Event Center will feature:
· Sports Facilities: Two regulation-size indoor pickleball courts, along with basketball hoops and volleyball nets.
· Event Space: A large multi-purpose area suitable for hosting camps, retreats, and various community gatherings.
· Accessibility: Designed for year-round usability for all ages and mobility levels.
· Aesthetic: A warm, welcoming design that will complement the Joy Ranch’s signature Old West aesthetic.
To finance the project, Joy Ranch has launched a capital campaign. They specifically recognized Valley Queen Cheese and its Foundation for their continued support of Joy Ranch, including a pledged gift toward the new Multi-Purpose Event Center capital campaign.
