Registration Open for 29th Annual Hospital Hill Run in Watertown

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Prairie Lakes Healthcare System (PLHS) has announced that registration is now open for the 29th Annual Hospital Hill Run, scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2026.

Nearly thirty years ago, a group of local healthcare providers established the event to encourage exercise through a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. This year’s run offers several ways to participate, including a timed 5K run, a 5K walk, a 1-mile walk, and a timed 1-mile race for children ages 10 and under.

Due to ongoing construction on 14th Ave NW, organizers have announced a new route for the 2026 event. The 5K course will now take runners south to complete a loop around the Bramble Park Zoo.

Registration and Fees

Participants are encouraged to register early to take advantage of discounted rates:

·         Early Bird Registration: $20 per person if completed on or before June 5, 2026.

·         Standard Registration: $25 for entries received after June 5.

·         Local Healthcare Employees: A discounted rate of $15 is available for local healthcare workers.

·         Children: Participation is free for children ages 12 and under.

Registrants who sign up by the June 5 deadline are guaranteed to receive an athletic running shirt on race day; those who register later will need to pick up their shirts at a later date.

Event Schedule and Location The event will be centered around the Prairie Lakes Caring Club House, located at 220 9th Ave NW.

·         Check-In: 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 a.m.

·         Race Start: 8:00 a.m. sharp

·         Post-Race: Refreshments, entertainment, and an awards ceremony will take place immediately following the race near the top of St. Anne’s Hill.

Supporting the Community.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Prairie Lakes Caring Club House. This facility provides a “home away from home” for out-of-town patients, families, and caregivers who are receiving medical services at Prairie Lakes Healthcare System. Participants are also invited to bring a non-perishable food donation to the registration table during check-in.
