The downtown street sweeping season runs annually from May 1 through October 31. The service is essential for maintaining street quality, extending the life of pavement, and preventing localized flooding by clearing debris from storm drains.
To allow cleaning crews to sweep from curb to curb, specific parking restrictions are in effect:
· Downtown Streets: No parking is allowed from 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. every Wednesday.
· Downtown Avenues: No parking is allowed from 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. every Thursday.
The City emphasized that downtown sweeping is now a regular, scheduled service, and no additional notifications will be sent to the public. The posted street signs serve as the official reminder for drivers.
Vehicles found parked in violation of these posted sweeping times are subject to a $15 ticket. The City's primary goal is to achieve full compliance, allowing crews to complete the sweeping process efficiently.
