Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - State Representative Kent Roe announced today that he will seek re-election to continue serving District 4 in the South Dakota House of Representatives. Roe, a businessman, stated his decision is driven by his commitment to the district and a desire to build upon the work initiated during his first term.

Roe emphasized that his work in the legislature is not yet complete. "It’s been an honor to represent District 4, and our work is far from finished," said Roe. "My focus is on supporting our agricultural economy, investing in education and public safety, and making sure our small towns have every opportunity to succeed.”

During his first term, Roe has served on the House Taxation and Transportation Committees. He has established a reputation for a pragmatic, no-nonsense approach to problem-solving that he states is grounded in common-sense conservative values.

The re-election campaign will center on five core priorities:

·        Fighting for family farms and ranches.

·        Supporting small businesses.

·        Strengthening local schools and empowering parents.

·        Backing law enforcement and keeping communities safe.

·        Creating lasting opportunities for the next generation.

A fourth-generation farm kid from rural Hamlin County, Roe remains active in numerous community organizations. His involvement includes serving on the Sioux Rural Water Board and participating in groups such as the Professional Appraiser Association of South Dakota, Dakota Mainstem, and New Hope Lutheran Church. He is also involved with the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, the Appraisal Institute, and Gideons International.

As a father and grandfather, Roe stated a commitment to ensuring that future generations can build their lives and families within the district.

District 4 encompasses Hamlin, Deuel, and Grant Counties, along with portions of Clark, Codington, and Roberts Counties.

The campaign announcement noted that absentee voting for the upcoming election cycle begins on April 17, 2026. The Republican Primary Election is scheduled for June 2, 2026.

Voters can find more information regarding Roe’s service and priorities on his campaign website, KentRoeForHouse.com, and by connecting with the campaign on Facebook and X.
