Sisseton Veterans Invited to “Coffee & Camaraderie” Outreach Event

Northeast Radio SD News – Sisseton, SD - Local veterans and their families will soon have a chance to connect over a cup of coffee while navigating the often-complex world of military benefits.
The South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs (SDDVA), in partnership with the Roberts County Veterans Service Officer, has announced a “Coffee & Camaraderie” event set for next month in Sisseton. This gathering is part of the SDDVA’s “What’s Brewing” series, a statewide outreach initiative designed to provide a relaxed, welcoming environment for veterans to share their experiences and stay up to date on available services.

Navigating the transition from service to the management of long-term benefits can be challenging. To help, members of the SDDVA team and Roberts County CVSO Tanya McCarlson will be in attendance to answer specific questions.
Attendees can receive information on a wide array of topics, including:
· Disability compensation and pensions
· Healthcare and education benefits
· Burial benefits and the State Veterans Cemetery
· Information regarding the Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home
