Six Hospitalized After Two-Vehicle Crash in Watertown

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Six people were hospitalized Wednesday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision, according to a media release from Watertown Fire Rescue.


Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the intersection of Highway 212 and 39th Street SW. Upon arrival, responders found that a midsize SUV and a full-size pickup truck had collided. Both vehicles had come to rest in the ditch.

Watertown Fire Rescue utilized one engine and two ambulances to respond to the incident. Six patients were treated at the scene and subsequently transported by emergency personnel to Prairie Lakes Hospital. The specific nature of their injuries remains undisclosed.


First responders remained on the scene for approximately 30 minutes. Watertown Fire Rescue was assisted during the response by the Codington County Sheriff’s Office and the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
