Northeast Radio SD News – Sioux Falls, SD - Drivers in Sioux Falls should prepare for a temporary traffic diversion on Interstate 229 this Tuesday evening, Sept. 23, 2025. Beginning at 7 p.m., the northbound lanes of I-229 will be closed near Cliff Avenue (exit 4) to allow maintenance crews to repair the asphalt at the temporary bridge.

During the three-hour closure, traffic will be rerouted onto the on- and off-ramps at Cliff Avenue. The diversion is expected to remain in place until approximately 10 p.m.

In addition to the interstate closure, Cliff Avenue itself will be impacted. Traffic will be closed from the northbound ramps to 41st Street. Northbound vehicles on Cliff Avenue will be detoured onto the northbound on-ramp, while southbound traffic will be redirected to 41st Street.
