Northeast Radio SD News – Lake Norden, SD - Two juveniles sustained no injuries following a single-vehicle crash late Saturday night in rural Hamlin County.

On Saturday, November 22, 2025, at approximately 10:21 p.m., the Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash site on 194th Street, about a quarter-mile east of 447th Street, near Lake Norden. The Lake Norden Fire Department and Lake Norden Ambulance were also dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, first responders found that the juvenile driver and juvenile passenger had already exited the vehicle. Both were checked over by Emergency Medical Services personnel, but neither required transport to a medical facility.

The vehicle had left the roadway and traveled through a fence line of a property containing livestock. The vehicle’s airbags deployed during the collision. The livestock in the pasture were reported safe and remained secure within the enclosure. Fire department personnel quickly secured the damaged fence to prevent any cattle from escaping.

BES Towing of Lake Norden was called to remove the vehicle from the scene.

The juvenile driver was cited for Careless Driving and No Seatbelt. The Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office is handling the ongoing crash investigation.
