Two-Vehicle Crash in Watertown, SD Sends One to Hospital, Multiple People Evaluated

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Watertown Fire Rescue crews responded late Wednesday night to a two‑vehicle crash that left multiple people needing medical evaluation, according to a media release from the department.


The call came in at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Sept. 30 for a motor vehicle accident in the 5900 block of 9th Avenue SW. Fire Rescue dispatched an engine and two ambulances to the scene.


Upon arrival, responders found two vehicles involved and several individuals present. After assessing the situation, crews requested a third ambulance to assist with patient evaluations.


WFR EMS personnel assessed multiple people at the scene. One patient was transported to Sanford Watertown Medical Center for further care.

Agencies assisting at the crash included the Watertown Police Department, Codington County Sheriff’s Office, South Dakota Highway Patrol, and Performance Towing.

Watertown Fire Rescue did not release additional details on the cause of the crash or the conditions of those evaluated.
