Vehicle Fire Extinguished at Watertown High School Parking Lot

Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - Watertown Fire Rescue (WFR) responded to a vehicle fire in the Watertown High School parking lot on Thursday afternoon, October 2, 2025.

​At 2:00 p.m., fire crews were dispatched to the school's west parking lot, located at the corner of Arrow Avenue and 9th Street NE. Responding units found a black, four-door car with visible flames coming from the engine compartment.

​WFR's Engine 4 crew immediately advanced a hose line and quickly extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to other vehicles parked nearby. No other cars were damaged in the incident, and no injuries were reported.

​The Watertown Police Department was also on scene assisting fire rescue personnel.
