At approximately 10:00 AM on Monday, February 9, Watertown Fire Rescue (WFR) was dispatched to Discount Seeds following reports of a vehicle crashing into the building. Units, including Battalion 1, Engine 3, Engine 4, and Medic 3, arrived on the scene to find a black Chevrolet Tahoe that had collided with the structure’s concrete foundation.

According to WFR officials, the impact resulted in extensive damage to the front end of the Tahoe. However, the building itself appeared to have escaped major structural issues.

“Once on scene, it was found that a black Chevy Tahoe had crashed into the concrete foundation of Discount Seed,” WFR stated in a release. “No obvious structural damage had occurred to Discount Seed’s building.”

One individual involved in the crash was treated at the scene and subsequently transported by Medic 3 to Prairie Lakes Hospital for further evaluation. The patient’s current condition has not been released.

WFR personnel remained on the scene for approximately 30 minutes to secure the area and assist with debris. The Watertown Police Department (WPD) and Active Towing assisted at the site to manage traffic and remove the disabled vehicle.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by local authorities.
