Northeast Radio SD News - Watertown, SD - The City of Watertown Public Works Department is scheduled to begin repairs that will affect traffic flow on Highway 212 starting Wednesday morning, October 1, 2025.
The work, focused on the intersection of Highway 212 and 6th Street East, involves the removal and replacement of a damaged manhole frame and cover, as well as an approximately 12-foot square section of the Highway 212 concrete roadway.
The construction will require the closure of the northernmost lane of Highway 212. This closure will extend from, and include, the 6th Street East intersection up to, but not including, the 7th Street East intersection.
City officials anticipate the lane closure and associated traffic control measures will remain in place for up to nine days, with work expected to be completed by October 10.
While residences and businesses in the area will remain accessible, motorists will not be able to use the intersection of Highway 212 and 6th Street East. Motorists are advised to use caution, observe all traffic control devices in the construction area, and are asked not to park on the street in the immediate work zone.
For any questions regarding the project, please get in touch with the City of Watertown's Engineering Division in the Public Works Department at 605-882-6202.
