Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Four members of the Northeastern General Auxiliary in Watertown traveled to St. Paul on April 27 to attend the annual WGA4Kids conference, where they presented a $12,000 donation to support children receiving care at the Shriners Clinic.

According to the release, the funds were raised throughout the year and will be used by the Women’s General Auxiliary to purchase wheelchairs and mobility equipment not covered by insurance.

The document notes, “they were able to present a check for $12,000.00… to be used for the purchase of

wheelchairs and mobility equipment, that insurance will not cover.”

In 2025 alone, WGA4Kids funded $283,142 in wheelchairs and mobility devices for Shriners patients, while insurance covered just $26,414 of those costs. The organization includes 23 auxiliaries across a five‑state region, all working to support children and families receiving specialized orthopedic care.

The Northeastern General Auxiliary says its mission remains focused on ensuring children have access to the mobility tools they need to thrive, regardless of financial barriers.
