Watertown Fire Rescue Responds to Early Morning House Fire on 2nd Street NW

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Watertown Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire at 414 2nd St. NW early Monday morning, after a 2:00 a.m. report of smoke and flames coming from a two‑story single‑family home.


According to the media release, firefighters arrived to find “smoke and fire coming from a two-story single-family home on the outside of the residence.” All occupants had evacuated before crews arrived, and everyone was accounted for.

Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire and confirmed it had not extended into the attic. Municipal Utilities shut off utilities to the home, and the department’s Fire Chaplain assisted the family as firefighters helped retrieve essential belongings.


No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains undetermined and is under review by the Fire Marshal.
