Watertown Post 17 Opens South Dakota Class A Legion Baseball State Tournament Against Rapid City Post 22

Northeast Radio SD News – Rapid City, S.D. — Watertown Post 17 opens the 2026 Class A American Legion Baseball Tournament with one of the toughest draws in the bracket: a first‑round matchup against top‑seeded host Rapid City Post 22.


Post 17 enters the tournament as the No. 10 seed. The two teams last met in late June, when Post 22 swept a doubleheader at Fitzgerald Stadium — edging Watertown 4–3 in the opener before taking the nightcap 12–2.

First pitch for the state tournament opener is set for 7 p.m. MDT on July 28.

The Class A State Tournament runs July 28 through August 1 at Fitzgerald Stadium in Rapid City. All games will be streamed live on the Hard Hats TV YouTube channel.


Watertown looks to build on its momentum after securing a Super Regional victory earlier this week to earn its third straight trip to the state tournament.
