Watertown Post 17 Pitcher Hunter Halajian Commits to Northeast Iowa Community College

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Watertown Post 17 pitcher Hunter Halajian has announced his commitment to continue his baseball and academic career at Northeast Iowa Community College, marking the next step in what has been a breakout 2026 season for the left‑hander.
Halajian has emerged as one of Post 17’s most reliable arms this summer. Through 58 innings pitched, he has compiled a 6–2 record, 66 strikeouts, a 3.02 ERA, and a 1.36 WHIP, anchoring the rotation and consistently delivering quality outings.
Head Coach Ryan Neale said Halajian’s rise is the product of years of focused development.
“Hunter is a player we knew had the potential to be special long before many people started to notice,” Neale said. “Behind the scenes, he has put in countless hours to transform himself into a complete pitcher. He’s worked incredibly hard to get stronger, increase his velocity, and refine every aspect of his game.”
Neale added that Halajian’s work ethic is what separates him from other prospects.
“Northeast Iowa Community College is getting a pitcher with tremendous upside and an even better work ethic,” Neale said. “Hunter is the type of player who will continue to improve because of the time and effort he invests in himself every day. We couldn’t be more excited for him, and I have no doubt he’s going to have a very successful college career.”
Halajian becomes the latest Post 17 standout to secure a collegiate opportunity as Watertown continues its 2026 campaign.
