Watertown Post 17 Season Ends With 8-0 Loss to Sioux Falls West in Class A Legion Tournament

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Watertown Post 17’s season came to a close Friday after Sioux Falls West delivered an 8–0 shutout in the Class A American Legion Baseball Tournament.


Watertown finished with six hits, led by Cain Everson, who went 2-for-3. Sam Olson, Jonathan Lake, Kye Paulson and Jaxon Falak each added a hit.


On the mound, Kooper Heiser worked 4 1/3 innings, allowing six runs on six hits with four walks. Tripp Jorgenson took the loss after giving up two runs on two hits in one-third of an inning. Kasen Jensen provided 1 1/3 innings of relief.


Sioux Falls West totaled eight hits, paced by Matnel Jensen, who went 2-for-2 with an RBI. Jack Hille, Bennett Duncan, Tucker DeHann, Jackson Dunn, Boston Bryant and Brody Jacobson each recorded a hit.


Kyler Boyd earned the win with a dominant six‑inning performance, scattering five hits and striking out seven. Noah Grabow closed the game with a one‑hit inning to complete the shutout.


Sioux Falls West advances to Saturday’s 1 p.m. Class A championship game, where it will face the winner of Rapid City Post 22 and Yankton.


Watertown concludes its season with a 23–17 record.
