Watertown Post 17 Splits Thursday Games at Creighton Prep Tournament

Northeast Radio SD News – Gretna, NE - Watertown Post 17 bounced back from a shutout loss to open Thursday’s action at the Creighton Prep Tournament, responding with an 8–1 win over host Gretna to earn a split on day two of the event.
Lincoln East 7, Watertown 0
Lincoln East Post 3 controlled the opener behind a dominant outing from starter Cade Anderson and a late offensive surge.
Anderson earned the win with five scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and striking out six. Lincoln East broke the game open with a four‑run seventh inning, led by Dele Odulate, who went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
Watertown managed five hits in the loss, coming from Cole Hansen, Carter Buisker, Sam Olson, Kye Paulson, and Jaxon Falak.
Hunter Halajian took the loss, giving up three runs on three hits over 4 1/3 innings while striking out four and walking eight. Olson worked the final 2 2/3 innings, allowing four runs on four hits.
Watertown 8, Gretna 1
Post 17 quickly reset in the nightcap, using a six‑run fourth inning to take control and hand Gretna Post 216 an 8–1 defeat.
Hansen and Cain Everson each recorded two hits, with Everson driving in a pair of runs. Markus Pitkin delivered a strong performance in the middle of the order, finishing with three RBIs.
Jackson McClemens went the distance on the mound, limiting Gretna to one run on three hits while striking out four.
Gretna starter Liam Jones took the loss, allowing eight runs and nine hits over five innings. Layton Parrack, Joe Onwiler, and Grady Fish each tallied a hit for Post 216.
