Watertown School Board to Consider $60,000 ArrowTV Sponsorship Renewal

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - The Watertown School Board will meet in regular Session at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2026, to consider a three-year renewal of an exclusive corporate sponsorship for ArrowTV, along with requests to acquire vehicles and multiple surplus property dispositions.
$60,000 ArrowTV Sponsorship Extension
Board members will vote on an agreement to extend ArrowTV's exclusive broadcast sponsorship with DFS Insurance and Dakotaland Federal Credit Union.
Under the proposed agreement, DFS Insurance and Dakotaland Federal Credit Union will pay $20,000 per school year for three years, spanning the 2027-28, 2028-29, and 2029-30 school years, for a total contract value of $60,000. The Watertown School District is due annual payments under the contract before July 1 of each year.
The contract outlines specific promotional provisions for the sponsors:
· On-Screen Branding: Company logos will stream in the corner of the broadcast screen during ArrowTV productions.
· Crew Apparel: Announcers and production crew members will be permitted to wear professional apparel bearing the DFS Insurance and Dakotaland Federal Credit Union logos provided by the sponsor.
· On-Air Mentions: Business names will be verbally dropped throughout broadcasts, with the district retaining authority over the frequency of the drops.
Under the terms, the school district retains exclusive control over selling commercial advertisements. However, the agreement restricts the district from accepting or streaming commercials from competing financial institutions, insurance companies, or related entities.
The agreement gives Dakotaland Federal Credit Union the right of first refusal to extend the partnership for an additional three years covering the 2030-31 school year, subject to program continuation and rate adjustments. Either party may terminate the contract with 90 days' written notice, with compensation prorated based on the portion of the school year completed. Sam Mooney is the primary contact for Dakotaland Federal Credit Union, and Business Manager Heidi Clausen represents the district.
