Watertown Service Clubs to Celebrate Completion of Three‑Year Highway Signage Project on May 18

Signs for Watertown Community Service Clubs line a highway. A banner announces completion of a signage project on May 18.

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - A three‑year community project led by Watertown’s four major service clubs will be celebrated Monday, May 18, with a ribbon-cutting and open house at Lifesong Event Space. The initiative brought together Rotary, Kiwanis, Optimist, and Lions to install new, updated signage along key highway entrances to the city.

The signs highlight local service clubs and aim to make it easier for residents to learn about volunteer opportunities and get involved. The project was supported by partnerships with the City of Watertown, local businesses, and sponsors who donated land, resources, and installation support.

The celebration begins with a 4:00 p.m. ribbon-cutting, followed by an open house until 6:00 p.m., at Lifesong Event Space, located at 405 18th Ave NE, north of Professional Hearing Services.

New Sign Locations

North Highway 81 — Land donated by Reliabank

North Highway 20 — Space provided behind the new Culligan Water location, with support from Stein Sign Billboards

West Highway 212 — Installed in Hanten Park; the City of Watertown donated land space and waived sign permit fees

East Highway 212 — Space donated by Runnings

Organizers say the project reflects the power of collaboration and the long‑standing commitment of local service clubs to community improvement.
