Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - The City of Watertown will begin work this week on a sanitary sewer repair project that will temporarily affect traffic and driveway access in a northwest neighborhood, according to a Public Service Announcement from the Engineering Division.

Weather permitting, construction on the 2026 Sanitary Sewer Repairs Project at 5th Ave NW and 13th St NW is scheduled to start Thursday, June 4, with completion expected by Friday, June 12, barring any unforeseen issues.

The project includes replacing a sanitary sewer manhole, removing and replacing asphalt, and installing new sanitary sewer pipe. City officials say residents and businesses in the area should expect periods when driveway access may be limited.

Motorists are urged to use caution, follow all posted traffic control signs, and watch for flaggers in the construction zone. The city also asks drivers not to park on the street within active work areas.

Anyone with questions may contact the City of Watertown Engineering Division at (605) 882‑6202.
