Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - The City of Watertown Public Works Department will begin its 2026 Milling and Asphalt Paving Project on Monday, June 22, weather permitting, according to a public service announcement issued Wednesday. Work is expected to continue through August 21, barring delays.

The project includes roadway surfacing removal and reconstruction, along with curb and gutter repairs. Construction will take place on 16th Ave Circle, 16th Ave NE, and 18th Ave NE. Property owners with sump pump lines routed to these streets are asked to temporarily reroute them to keep discharge behind the curb for the duration of the project.

City officials remind motorists to use caution in construction zones and follow all posted traffic control signs and flaggers. Access to homes and businesses will remain available most of the time, but drivers are asked not to park on the street within active work areas.

Residents with questions may contact the City of Watertown Engineering Division at (605) 882‑6202.
