Attempted Murder Investigation Leads to Four Arrests in Southwest Watertown

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - Watertown Police arrested four individuals Wednesday morning after officers responded to a report of shots fired and a stolen vehicle connected to the incident, according to a media release from the Watertown Police Department.


Police were dispatched at approximately 11:02 a.m. to a residence in southwest Watertown after receiving information that a female had been shot at by someone associated with a vehicle reported stolen earlier that morning in Roberts County. Officers arriving at the scene found evidence consistent with a firearm being discharged inside the residence, the release stated.


A short time later, officers located the stolen vehicle in southwest Watertown. A traffic stop was conducted, and four individuals were taken into custody without incident:

·         A 16-year-old from Wilmot, SD

·         Khayri Bergman, 21, of Corona, SD

·         Isabella Rios, 19, of Watertown, SD

·         A 14-year-old from Watertown, SD

Following the investigation, the 16-year-old juvenile was arrested on multiple charges, including:

·         Attempted First Degree Murder

·         Aggravated Assault

·         Commission of a Felony with a Firearm

·         Loaded Firearm While Intoxicated

·         First Degree Burglary

·         Possession of a Stolen Vehicle

Bergman was arrested for Accessory, First Degree Burglary, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.

Rios was arrested for First Degree Burglary and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.

The 14-year-old juvenile was arrested for First Degree Burglary and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.


Police say the case remains an active investigation, and no further details are being released at this time.


All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
