Codington County Extends 2027 Employee Health Insurance Proposal Deadline to Oct. 13

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - The Codington County Board of Commissioners has extended the deadline for insurance providers to submit proposals for the county’s 2027 employee health insurance plans.

County Auditor Brenda Hanten announced Wednesday that proposals will now be accepted until Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. All submissions must be delivered to the Codington County Auditor’s Office.

The county is requesting plan options that include:

· $1,000 deductible

· $2,000 deductible

· $4,000 High‑Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with a Health Savings Account (HSA)

Each proposal must include both single and family plan structures.

The extension gives providers additional time to prepare complete proposals as the county evaluates coverage options for the upcoming year.
