Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - The Watertown City Council on Monday night will consider approving Change Order No. 1‑Final for the 2026 10th Ave NW Water Main Project, increasing the contract by $8,629 for a new total of $95,229.


The item appears on the June 15, 2026, consent agenda and is submitted by City Manager Alan Stager.


According to the agenda documents, the change order is needed to cover additional fittings required to install the water main, along with extra sidewalk replacement that became necessary to access the underground utilities.

The original bid for the project was $86,600, awarded to Austreim Excavating, LLC. No previous change orders were issued. With this adjustment, the final contract price becomes $95,229.


The work includes installing a new water main, fire hydrants, and associated joints along 10th Ave NW. According to the attached change order, all work quantities associated with the adjustment have been completed.

The project is funded through the Capital Improvement Fund, account 212‑43180‑43919, as budgeted.
