Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - The Downtown Watertown Collective is officially on the hunt for a new leader to serve as the Downtown Collective Director, a role designed to act as the primary “connector and catalyst” for the city’s heart.


The organization, which focuses on strengthening downtown as a vibrant hub for shopping, dining, and community celebrations, describes the position as much more than just event planning. The incoming Director will be tasked with driving measurable economic impact and ensuring the district’s long-term sustainability.


A Multi-Faceted Leadership Role

The selected candidate will oversee a wide array of responsibilities aimed at boosting downtown vitality, including:


·         Business Engagement: Serving as the main point of contact for downtown merchants, managing membership growth, and fostering collaboration between local business owners.

·         Event Coordination: Leading signature Watertown staples such as the Soup Stroll, Pumpkin Palooza, The Art of Downtown-Artwalk, and programming at Foundation Plaza.

·         Marketing & Branding: Managing social media, digital communications, and press outreach to promote downtown as a premier destination.

·         Economic Development: Tracking engagement metrics like sales tax data to identify opportunities for recruitment and long-term growth.

·         Fundraising: Developing sponsorship opportunities and identifying grant options to support the organization’s mission.
