Juvenile Injured in Motorcycle Crash on SD Highway 21 Near Hayti

Northeast Radio SD News – Hayti, SD - A juvenile sustained minor injuries Tuesday evening after losing control of a motorcycle on South Dakota Highway 21, according to the Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office.

The Watertown Regional Dispatch Center received a 911 call at approximately 8:28 p.m., reporting a single‑motorcycle crash near 191st Street, about three miles south of Hayti. A deputy was dispatched and arrived shortly after the crash occurred.

The investigation determined the motorcycle was traveling southbound on SD Highway 21 when the juvenile driver entered a curve and encountered gravel on the roadway. The motorcycle tipped onto its side and slid several feet along the highway.

The juvenile sustained minor injuries but declined transportation by ambulance, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The incident remains under investigation.
