One Hospitalized After Two-Vehicle Crash at Watertown Highway 81 and 4th Ave SE Intersection

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - One person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision at a Watertown intersection on Thursday afternoon.


According to emergency officials, first responders were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 81 and 4th Ave SE at approximately 4:10 p.m. on August 20 for a reported motor vehicle accident. Upon arriving at the scene, crews located two disabled vehicles in the middle of the intersection.


One individual involved in the crash was transported to Sanford Watertown for the treatment of undisclosed injuries.


Watertown Fire Rescue firefighters worked to clear the scene, cleaning up debris and a small amount of leaked fluids from the roadway to ensure the intersection could be safely reopened to traffic.

Watertown Fire Rescue and the Watertown Police Department led the response and were assisted at the scene by the Codington County Sheriff’s Office and Crocker’s Towing.


Authorities have stated that no further information regarding the cause of the accident or the extent of the individual’s injuries is available at this time.
