Ram Pickup Crashes Into Jungers Farms Butchery in Watertown, Temporarily Closing Retail Storefront

Northeast Radio SD News – Watertown, SD - A Ram pickup crashed into the front of Jungers Farms Butchery on Saturday afternoon, damaging the storefront and forcing the business to temporarily close its retail counter.

According to a Watertown Fire Rescue media release, crews were dispatched to 502 10th Avenue SE for a report of a vehicle versus building. Firefighters arrived to find the pickup “resting against the building” and began assessing the structure for safety.

Pickup truck crashed through a broken storefront window, shattering glass around an OPEN sign and damaged insulation.

“WFR personnel examined the building and determined it remained structurally sound,” the release stated. Crews also assisted the business owner with shutting off power to electrical outlets along the damaged wall, cleaned up broken glass, and placed a tarp over the shattered window before clearing the scene.

No injuries were reported.

In a public update, Jungers Farms Butchery said the crash sent the vehicle through the front window of the store. Staff described the incident with humor, noting they had “always talked about offering a drive‑thru,” but not like this. The business initially remained open Saturday afternoon, telling customers they were welcome to shop “as long as you don’t mind a little extra fresh air.”

Later in the day, the business announced its retail storefront will be closed until further notice while repairs continue. A later update from ownership stated they will now be open during regular business hours. Online orders and deliveries through their website remain available. The owners emphasized that everyone is okay, adding they were “just a bit shaken” but grateful for the community support and the rapid response from Watertown Police and Watertown Fire Rescue.

A local contractor was contacted to begin repairs, according to WFR.
